I joined the Institute of Cancer on January 2007. My previous position was at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research where I performed postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Bart Vanhaesebroeck. My work there involved designing and applying advanced techniques for protein analysis, and focused on the study of cell signalling pathways controlled by a group of enzymes termed PI3 kinases.
My current research focuses on understanding the basic principles by which cell signalling pathways operate and how these are subverted in disease. Our research involves the use of mass spectrometry and related analytical techniques to quantify the activity of cell signalling pathways and to understand their contribution to the signalling network. Our goal is to decipher how these networks are deregulated in cancer cells and to translate these findings to the design of rational therapies.
