Professional interests
Dr Chris Gallagher is a consultant medical oncologist and the Cancer Services Clinical Director at St Bartholomew's Hospital Barts and the London NHS Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He trained in Oncology at St Bartholomew's and the Royal Marsden Hospitals and in research at the ICRF Lincoln's Inn Fields. He specializes in Gynaecological and Breast cancers and participates in national and international collaborative trials in ovarian and breast cancer. He is a member of the NCRI Gynaecological clinical studies group and the CRUK Clinical Trials Awards Advisory Committee. He has lead the development of cancer services for the Barts and the London NHS Trust within the North East London Network with the creation of new consultant posts, directorate clinical governance, clinical IT systems, and planning of the new hospital Comprehensive Cancer Centre. He has lead the development at BLT of oncology clinical education and training for Foundation year and Speciality trainees and promotes the development of oncology training through membership of the RCP subspecialty committee, the Association of Cancer Physicians, and the E-learning board of the Joint Council for Clinical Oncology.
